The Pankotsi Lodge
Introducing the Pankotsi Lodge, situated in the Manu Biosphere Reserve, where the hospitality of the Matsigenka people who run this community-led project, combined with the natural surroundings, create responsible and memorable experiences.
The lodge's bungalows are designed in a traditional style, featuring solid wood and high ceilings. Each bungalow has its own bathroom, towels, beds with mosquito nets, and premium hotel-quality mattresses.
The dining room is lit using solar panel energy. Here you can enjoy all three meals, charge your electronic devices, connect to the Wi-Fi, or relax with a book from the library.
The community has been welcoming visitors since 1995. The Pankotsi Lodge itself has been in operation since 2008. 90% of the revenue is used to pay a portion to the community members themselves and to distribute the remainder amongst all members of the community for activities such as school supplies, medical cover, land protection, festivities, and more.
